Or imagine this - you cheat on your girlfriend with this guy, she finds out and opens up about her heartbreak to various people, and word travels (as it tends to do in small towns) that you were in a relationship this whole time. Reading through the thread, there is clearly a difference in how you and your BF interpret your platonic friendship.
